The Cayman Islands Port Authority Cargo Distribution Centre Warehouse will be open Saturday, 28 March from 8:30 am to 12 pm for persons or organisations with cargo cleared and ready to collect.
Grocery stores and supermarkets re-opened Saturday, 28 March and will close at 6 pm each day in line with curfew hours. From Monday to Saturday:

For other essential businesses, check websites and social media to confirm opening hours and accommodations for the vulnerable and essential staff.
Supplies are not running short. Only essential trips by one member of the household should be considered, and children should stay home.
From 5 am on Saturday, 28 March, the Cayman Islands are under a daily "hard" curfew from 7 pm until 5 am and a "soft" curfew from 5:01 am until 6:59 pm, allowing limited movement for essential purposes only. These regulations will be in effect for 10 days, expiring at 5 am on Tuesday, 7 April unless Cabinet extends the period. Read more.

If you entered the Cayman Islands on or after Monday, 16 March, you are required to self-isolate along with all other members of your household for 14 full days.
Any person who displays symptoms of coronavirus (coughing, fever, shortness of breath) or who has had contact with someone suspected to have coronavirus should also self-isolate for 14 days along with their household.

Shelter in Place regulations include a ban on inter-island travel by sea except for transport of freight. This restriction is in place until Tuesday, 7 April and may be extended by Cabinet.
POLICIES IN ACTION
At 5.01 am on Saturday, 28 March, the Cayman Islands transitioned to a new "soft" daytime curfew. Referred to as "Shelter in Place", these regulations are currently set to expire at 5 am on Tuesday, 7 April. The regulations will be reviewed on Friday, 3 April and may be extended beyond the initial 10-day period. Read more.
Public Health (Prevention, Control and Suppression of COVID-19) Regulations, 2020
The "hard" curfew remains in effect from 7 pm in the evening until 5 am in the morning each day. It is being reassessed by the Commissioner of Police every 48 hours and is currently scheduled to expire at 5 am on Friday, 3 April.
The "hard" curfew is in addition to Shelter in Place regulations and may be extended. It is imposed under Section 49 of the Police Law (2017 Revision) and has been authorised after consultation with the National Hazard Management Executive, which includes the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition. Cabinet has also given its agreement.
During the Shelter in Place period, only essential establishments, institutions, businesses, organisations and offices are open. Businesses that remain open to the public must operate under restricted hours and social distancing provisions. Non-exempt businesses must also comply with the ban on public gathering of more than 2 people, not including staff. Read more.
During the Shelter in Place period, restaurants are only to provide drive-through services or the take out, delivery or curb side collection of food. Delivery services are only allowed to operate until 9 pm. Persons who travel to restaurants which provide drive-through, take out or curbside collection are only allowed to collect food until 6 pm. During the Shelter in Place period, there are no exceptions to the requirement to maintain a distance of at least six feet (two metres) between individuals who are not members of the same household while in a public place.
Essential establishments, institutions, businesses, organisations and offices that are open at any time during Shelter in Place must provide for social distancing. Read more.
Public transportation services (buses) are currently suspended and depots are closed until Tuesday, 7 April. This date may be extended.
During the Shelter in Place period, taxis are limited to no more than 2 passengers to ensure each passenger is able to distance himself or herself as far as possible from the other passenger and the driver. Read more.
During the Shelter in Place period, no more than 2 persons who are not members of the same household are allowed to gather in public. Read more.
Health care facilities, supermarkets, convenience stores and mini-marts, pharmacies, retail banks, building societies, credit unions and gas stations are exempt from this ban. However, the owner or operator must restrict the number of customers to maintain social distancing. No matter the size, convenience stores and mini-marts are limited to no more than 6 customers at any time.
Weddings are not to include 10 or more people other than the bride, groom, official witnesses and the marriage officer. Funerals are only allowed to be attended by up to 10 members of the immediate family, 6 pallbearers, at least 1 officiant, and essential mortuary staff.

WHAT IS CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)?
Coronavirus or COVID-19 is a new strain of the coronavirus, which was first identified in Wuhan City, China in 2019. COVID-19 is a member of the coronavirus family (a group of viruses) that has never been encountered before.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?
The virus most commonly causes:
- coughing
- fever
- tiredness
- breathing difficulties
These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually but commonly occur within 1-10 days after a person has been exposed.
Some people become infected but don’t develop any symptoms and don't feel unwell. Around 1 out of every 6 people who gets COVID-19 becomes seriously ill and develops difficulty breathing.
